Control the exact order signers receive and sign your documents. Perfect for approval chains, multi-party contracts, and compliance workflows.

Signing Workflow Features

Ordered Signing Chains

Define the exact sequence, Signer 1 → Signer 2 → Signer 3, with automatic progression.

Parallel Broadcasting

Alternatively, send to all signers simultaneously when order doesn't matter.

Hybrid Workflows

Combine sequential and parallel steps, e.g., two approvers sign in parallel, then the final signer signs last.

Automatic Progression

When Signer 1 completes, Signer 2 is automatically notified and invited.

Deadline Management

Set per-signer deadlines to keep signing workflows moving forward.

Auto-Reminders

Scheduled reminders for pending signers who haven't acted.

Status Tracking

Real-time visibility into who has signed and who is next in the chain.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is sequential signing?

Sequential signing (also called ordered signing) is a workflow where signers receive and sign a document in a specific, predetermined order. Signer 2 can only access the document after Signer 1 has completed their signature. This is essential for approval chains, manager sign-offs, and documents where signing order has legal significance.

When should I use sequential vs parallel signing?

Use sequential signing when the order matters, for example, when a manager must approve before a VP countersigns, or when a client must sign before a notary witnesses. Use parallel signing when order doesn't matter and you want all parties to sign as quickly as possible, like collecting team acknowledgments.

Can I mix sequential and parallel signing?

Yes. WPsigner supports hybrid workflows. For example, you can set up a workflow where two department heads sign in parallel (Step 1), then the CEO signs last (Step 2). This gives you full flexibility for complex approval chains.

What happens if a signer in the chain doesn't respond?

WPsigner sends automatic reminders to pending signers. You can also set expiration deadlines, if a signer doesn't complete within the deadline, you're notified and can take action (resend, reassign, or cancel the document).

Powerful Signing Workflows

Sequential, parallel, or hybrid, WPsigner gives you full control over multi-signer workflows.
